Phuket Aquarium

Discover the Marine Life of Phuket’s Waters

Phuket Aquarium in Cape Panwa, Phuket

Phuket Aquarium is located at Cape Panwa, on the east coast of Phuket. A perfect place for a rainy afternoon with the kids; Phuket Aquarium is not astounding but it does offer interesting possibilities to learn more about Southern Thai marine life. It also has varying aquarium shapes, but the best thing about it is the Marine Tunnel. Featuring reef and leopard sharks cruising just inches above your head, it’s downright scary.

Snacks, drinks, and a souvenir shop are available onsite. Right next to them, you'll find a coastal path that leads to the Turtle Conservation Project. You'll see there wild turtles brought here to receive care following accidents in the busy waters around Phuket. If you wander out, later evening, the esplanade along the road that leads to the entrance of the aquarium is a cool sunset spot.

Apart from the Aquarium, Cape Panwa features restaurants, hotels, and a down-home, friendly nightlife, mostly because of the hotel satellite bars and restaurants there that profit from the many return guests of Kantary Bay and Cape Panwa hotels, just to name a few of the accommodation choices at hand around the cape. Note that The Royal Thai Navy Third Naval Area base is also located in Cape Panwa.
