Naithon Beach
A Tranquil Seaside Retreat in Phuket

Naithon Beach is a calm and discreet seaside destination located on Phuket’s northwest coast, between Nai Yang and Bang Tao. Stretching for about 1 kilometre, the beach is bordered along its northern section by a strip of pine trees around 30 metres wide, which separates it from the coastal road. Just across the road, you’ll find everything needed for a comfortable stay in Phuket — small shops, hotels, restaurants, and massage salons — all within easy reach yet without disturbing the area’s peaceful atmosphere.
Access to the southern end of Naithon Beach is via a wooden staircase, due to the elevation of the road as it climbs southward. This staircase has become something of a landmark for photographers and is even marked on Google Maps as a scenic photo spot.
The beach itself is wide — around 50 metres — offering plenty of space to relax or take long walks, and it rarely feels crowded. Like many beaches in Phuket, both ends are great for light snorkeling, especially with a mask and fins, where you can explore rocky areas and spot small marine life.
One of the first things that comes to mind when thinking about Naithon Beach is its relative remoteness. The area can only be reached from the north or the south via winding coastal roads or routes that pass through a mix of forest and agricultural land. While access may feel a bit longer compared to more central beaches, this isolation is precisely what gives Naithon its calm and unspoiled character.

As the sign says: beware of falling branches under the trees
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Naithon Beach is during Phuket’s dry season, from November to April, when the sea is calm and ideal for swimming and snorkeling. During the low season (May to October), waves can be stronger, making swimming less safe at times, but the beach remains beautiful and even quieter — perfect if you enjoy a more dramatic seascape and fewer visitors.
