Laem Ka
A Locals' Beach in Phuket

Laem Ka is more of a locals’ beach than a hidden one. On weekends, it comes alive with Thai families and groups of friends who gather to picnic, play, and relax by the sea. Vendors wander along the sand selling snacks and fresh fruits, while children laugh and run in and out of the water.
Located on Phuket’s southeast coast, Laem Ka offers calm and swimmable waters even during the low season (May to October), unlike the often rougher seas on the west coast. Three small islands — Koh Lone, Koh Aew, and Coral Island — face the beach, adding to the charm of the scenery.
The beach is near Rawai. From Chalong Circle, follow the road heading south toward Rawai, pass the Phuket Seashell Museum on your right, then the entrances to Andaman Cove Condos on your left. Turn left immediately after the 7-Eleven — the narrow road has large potholes and winds through a coconut grove before leading you to Laem Ka.

Best Time to Visit
Laem Ka can be enjoyed all year round. Its sheltered location on the southeast coast makes swimming possible even during the monsoon months (May to October). For quieter moments, visit on weekday mornings when the beach is less busy and the sea is calm and clear.
