Freedom Beach
A Remote Beach on Phuket Island
Hidden between Patong and Karon, Freedom Beach is one of the island’s most beautiful and exclusive spots. Accessible mainly by longtail boat from Patong during high season or by a steep footpath for the adventurous, this 300-metre-long stretch of soft white sand is surrounded by lush green hills and granite rocks.
Despite its proximity to Phuket’s busiest areas, Freedom Beach feels like a secluded paradise. The absence of large developments helps preserve its natural charm, creating a peaceful setting where the only sounds are the waves and the breeze through the trees. The water is exceptionally clear, making it ideal for swimming and, on calm days, snorkelling along the rocky edges.
A few simple beach facilities are available, including sunbeds and small restaurants serving Thai food and fresh drinks, but the overall atmosphere remains relaxed and unspoiled. Arriving early in the day is recommended to enjoy the beach at its quietest, before boats begin to arrive. For those seeking a tranquil escape without venturing too far, Freedom Beach is a true hidden gem.

Best Time to Visit
Freedom Beach is best visited between December and April, when boat access is available and the sea is calm.
During the rainy season, waves can be strong and boats may not operate.
